Give up the good for the great

Letting go is not an easy thing to do. Whenever we’re about to let go of something whether it’s an item which no longer serves its purpose or an idea which we had once believed in, it’s hard. We grow attached to the things which surround us and the same applies to our jobs and our mindset.

When I was working on a SlideShare presentation for the Bulb Culture’s page I came across a quote which really made me think about letting certain things go for the better.

“Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.”- John D.Rockefeller 

Don’t be afraid people. Sure there will be certain individuals who will tell you “Don’t quit you’ve got a good thing going.” But deep down inside you already know what you want and need to do. As long as you believe in yourself and follow your heart, you will never go wrong in life. If you feel the need to give up your comfy office job in order to pursue your dream and become a florist so be it. It’s your life not theirs.

Most recently I have had to move on from a project on which I dedicated two years of my life to. I had a lot of fun being a part of it but in order to move onto greater things I knew that I had to give up on that particular project in order to put in all of my strength and energy into something much greater.
