If I told you that you could make a huge change in your life, in any area, by devoting just 10 minutes a day, would you do it? I think most people would say, “Yes! Absolutely!” But how many of you will actually follow through? Think about what you want in life…is it a certain income? A specific car? A vacation home? A loving spouse? Better relationships with friends and family? Happiness? Comfort? A career you actually enjoy? Okay…you can get it. The price you have to pay is 10 minutes a day.
Sounds too good to be true? It’s true, alright. Here’s my story of how it worked for me:
I was working at JP Morgan Chase to pay for graduate school. They paid me more money than I knew what to do with, but after about 2 months of working there, the novelty of a new job and new responsibilities wore off and I began to hate the job, and everything about it. For some reason, and I still don’t know exactly why, I decided to start listening to motivational videos on YouTube while I worked. I didn’t have to interact with customers as I worked in the corporate office, so headphones were no problem.
The difference those videos made in my life was enormous. I can’t explain how much they changed my entire life. Firstly, I started enjoying the job. I began to look at it as an opportunity rather than a burden. I began talking to people I had never met before, which I had never done. I had always been a shy person, and now I’m very outgoing because I see people and potential interactions with them as positive things. I started working much harder, got promoted over many people who had been there for years and years who wanted the job as well, and got a substantial raise literally handed to me. I didn’t even have to interview for the job. The story, told more in depth, is in my book, Your Subconscious Mind Is Listening.
The effect that those motivational videos had on my life was truly astonishing, and they have lasted for over 2 years at this point. They are what pushed me to leave Chase and pursue what I really want to do in life, which is exactly what I’m doing now.
And so, this is how you can achieve what you want to achieve in your life as well. Spend 10 minutes a day listening to a motivational video. Try to get to it in the morning so your day will be energized altogether. Make a habit of it. Put it on while you’re making or eating breakfast, or while you’re driving to work. Make it part of your routine. To help you, I’m going to be posting one video each day for you to listen to, and I will listen to them as well. Let’s get motivated together! I promise they will make a HUGE difference in your life. They have for many other people as well. Just stick with it and stay committed.
