Do you sometimes find yourself stressing over the little things? Things which you may have slightly over-exaggerated and turned them from small things into big things? That was me a few years ago and in today’s post I’m going to give you people a tip on how you can overcome that barrier of stress and how you can tackle each task one step at a time.
When I started middle school (Secondary school) I found myself stressing out about everything. From the moment when I first stepped through those doors I was a stressful individual all the way till I reached high school.
I remember one time when my old English teacher had assigned a book report which was due in a week from the date which it had been given and throughout the rest of the day I felt absolutely sick. I couldn’t focus on anything else apart from that book report. The second I got home I was writing my book report and before the end of the day I had it finished. I couldn’t handle being stressed out and knowing in the back of my mind that I had a “Big Project” which had to be completed a week from the due date. I was completely paralyzed. I allowed stress to take over my life because I didn’t analyze the task which had to be completed rationally.
A year ago during my final high school exams, I decided that I wasn’t going to be stressed out anymore. I was sick of that feeling in the pit of my stomach and I’m sure some of you are today.
During those final exams I shut off everything around me, I filled my lungs with a breath of fresh air and exhaled slowly. Instead of allowing my mind to process too many things at once I took a reasonable amount of time in order to get my priorities in order and then I tackled each task one step at a time. So the next time when you’re feeling stressed out “Take A Breather”
A great book which I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to implement some structure into their daily routine is “Eat That Frog” By Brian Tracy. In this particular book Brian has many insightful strategies on how to prioritize the tasks which need doing, right.
