Instant Gratification

Life is going to get hard and you’re going to want to quit. You’re going to want to take the easy way out by giving up on your dream. You’re going to take a look at yourself in the mirror and say “I don’t have a winners quality. I’m not like him or her because my road towards success is ten times harder than theirs.”

A quote which I particularly like from Tony Robbins is

“People are rewarded in public for what they practice for years in private.”

You see, your road isn’t any harder or easier compared to the ones who have achieved success. Les Brown often says that we live in a world where we demand instant gratification. Some of us have no desire to do the work part, they just want the success part. Most of us set out to do something such as learn a new language and expect to be fluent within the first week of studying it.  That’s not how it works.

You’ve got to believe that one day you’re going to be fluent in that language, but you can’t expect a great outcome if you’re not putting in the work. So for all of you who are on the verge of quitting, don’t give up. Put in 110% of your heart, soul and passion into whatever it is you have set out to achieve and as Les Brown says “It’s not over until I win.”
