Look past their facade

We encounter a certain amount of people each day. Nameless faces pass us on the streets unaware of the great energy and passion which we carry around in us. They’re secretly judging our every move trying to predict what we’re going to do that particular day. But they’re not the ones which we should concern ourselves with.

The ones which we should concern ourselves with are the ones closest to us and who we call family and friends. These are the people which are aware of our journey on the path towards greatness. They seem concerned when something does not go our way.

But do they really feel bad for us?

This morning I spoke to an individual who tried to give me some “advice” in relation to starting a business. But truth be told, I could sense the negative energy from him a mile away. It was almost as if he was jealous of the path which I am on and as if he wanted me to fail.

But the worst part is he insulted me straight to my face and put it in such a way which wouldn’t seem insulting. It hurt, but I’m not going to let him or anyone similar get in my way.

If someone is trying to insult you in a “nice way” be straight with them and cut them out of your life. You don’t need haters standing between you and success. The people which you do need in your life however are the ones who are going to support and motivate you when times get tough.

  1. Awesome post, Jacob. I couldn’t agree more. Those kinds of people are going to be littered all throughout our lives. We just have to deny them our time and attention and keep the people around who inspire us to be great.
