The subject of this post may sound dumb, or obvious, or redundant, but the idea behind it is something that most people don’t seem to understand. People know what they want in life. You’ve probably heard countless people say things like, “I would love to be an author,” or “I’ve always wanted a vacation home,” or “I want to earn more money.”
Everyone wants something. The unfortunate thing is that most people don’t do what they want to do. Have you ever heard of an author who doesn’t write? No (if you have, please email me…I would like to keep up to date on their progress). Usually, authors make it a point to write every single day. How about a person with a vacation home that didn’t save any money for it? Nope. Or a millionaire who didn’t work hard and work intelligently? No (a millionaire is not someone who has millions of dollars, but rather someone who can keep millions of dollars and use their time and money to earn more…if you give a poor person a million dollars, they’re not a millionaire because that money will be gone so quickly. Their habits make them poor. So now they’re just a poor person with a million dollars…)
So it should seem obvious: once you know what you want to do, do it. There’s no other way to accomplish it. Work at whatever it is every single day, even if it’s only a little progress. As long as you’re moving forward, you are spending your time wisely.
