“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
– Nelson Mandela
How often do we find ourselves incapacitated by fear, worry and uncertainty? More often than not, self-imposed limitations have deterred us from chasing our aspirations and living our dreams. Because the scariest part of any journey is always taking that first step.
It usually feels like a huge leap of faith. And we are afraid of plunging too deep. Try looking at it differently and visualize it as one small step today, one giant leap towards realizing your dream.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
– Albert Einstein
If you keep holding back, opportunities will keep passing you by and all you’d be left with is regret. You’ll get stuck in a routine, you might be bored, and you’re not maximizing your satisfaction. At some point we have to ask ourselves, “Do I really want this lifestyle for myself and my family?”
Yes? Great! And congratulations! Keep doing what makes you happy and enjoy your fulfilling life!
No? Start looking for opportunities. Find the crossroads in your life and choose a different path. Make little changes in your life, one step at a time. Eventually, these steps will add up and when you turn around you will be proud of how far you’ve come.
“I’d rather be a failure at something I enjoy than a success at something I hate.”
– George Burns
Over the long weekend, I took my first intimidating step towards my dream lifestyle. I reflected on what I thought might have been a missed opportunity and changed my mind. I went back to a crossroad and took the other path.
I’m finally taking my leap of faith, battling the fears that stood in the way of my dreams.
What about you?
